Narrative Embroidery
Translate ideas & experiences into stitch
In my work as a mental health clinician, I help clients craft the story they tell about their lives, integrating past experiences, present day realities and hopes for the future. For many of us, journaling is the most common way we engage in this practice of narrative building. In this course, we will break down three uses of journaling - recording experiences, processing emotions and developing ideas - and learn a structured process to translate these into mark-making and stitch. Through creative prompts, guided exercises, and stitching instruction, you'll have the opportunity to develop an intentional creative practice over a month.
